I have been a chartered accountant for over 25 years. I plied my trade in the UK and Europe within primarily large corporations. I even set up and ran my own property development and construction company during the late 1980s. I’ve worked with local sole traders to multinational organisations, from the company formation to a successful full stock market flotation.
9 years ago I established my own practice, AJR & Co (transferring the business to a limited company in 2008), to provide independent and informed accountancy, taxation and business advice. My aim is to provide personal service and advice that makes sense to experienced business people and novices alike, with a pricing strategy to suit both the needs of smaller clients, perhaps just starting out, and those more established.
I’ve lived in the area for over 19 years and am closely linked with the Buckingham Business Club, providing me with excellent local business knowledge. I also lecture at Buckingham University on the Buckingham Business Enterprise course and am the Honorary Treasurer of the Buckingham Citizens’ Advice Bureau. I keep myself fully up to date on the latest legislation and regulations, attending regular conferences and seminars.
Over recent years individuals, businesses and companies have been affected by changes to legislation about how financial data is submitted to HM Revenue & Customs. These changes include, amongst other things, the introduction of submission of financial statements of companies in iXBRL format and the implementation of Real Time Information requiring online recording of every payment within a tight deadline made to an employee under PAYE.
We try to reduce the amount of time spent on data inputting by making use of other sources of data such as online banking, bank feeds and utilising Agent access for our clients who bank with HSBC, Barclays and TSB. In doing so we are able to analyse the data more efficiently and thereby spend more time on the accounting aspects and generation of more useful information.
Whether we utilise an accounting package, such as Quickbooks or Xero, or if we simply make up your accounts manually, you can be assured that we are doing so in the most efficient means possible.
