Director & Interim Legal Advisor in an Internet marketing group (AIM listed, loss making) and its strategy decisions, refinancing and disposals, and litigation
Restructuring and Legal Advisor to UK's largest coal producer (after a devastating fire threatened viability) to help avoid compulsory liquidation and achieve and implement a solution for survival of the remaining operations
and he has also consulted as Interim Company Secretary of a FTSE250 insurance group on its internal policies, processes and reporting procedures (following rapid growth and acquisitions).

He has connections with a large number of professional firms and contacts in private equity and capital providers, banks, other lending institutions and the restructuring fraternity.
Martin began his career at a firm of accountants. After earning his Fellowship as a Chartered Secretary early at BOC, he moved to IPC to learn the commercial imperative, initially in a legal and strategic financial planning role then as marketing manager.
For nearly ten years as Group Secretary and Head of Legal at the FTSE 250 Brake Bros plc, and a member of the Group Executive Board, Martin contributed to setting and monitoring business strategy, and was responsible for all legal and corporate business matters in particular acquisitions and their integration (17 in the UK and 12 in France) until 2003; after six-fold turnover growth (to £1.5bn), he led legal and regulatory matters in Brake's strategic review and offer for sale and the negotiations with prospective purchasers culminating in the successful takeover by private equity.
