Brothers Richard and Michael Field started the business in 1981.
But our heritage goes back even further through our grandfather to the years after the First World War, when he built a business in motor parts supply.
The business relocated to St Johns in Woking and extra staff members added to cope with the increasing work. The ethos of the business was of a ‘family run’ (wives and parents helped!) friendly, trustworthy company who wanted to treat customers as you would a friend. Looking after not just their car but them as well. It is still our ethos to this day.
In 1991 the business moved to larger, more central premises in Goldsworth Road. It was here that the business really took off, with a change in name to ‘Field’s Car Centre’ to reflect the growing nature of the business.
After extensive refurbishing, a six bay workshop with an MOT Station was up and running. Further new staff joined as the business grew. In July 1995 our achievements were recognized by winning the Autotrade ‘Independent Garage Of The Year’ Award and in 2005 runners up in the MotorTrader ‘Garage of the Year’ and ‘Excellence in Customer Care’ award. –Our customer service, attention to detail, hard work and the dedication of staff recognised by these awards.
Keith Harris is our senior Mot tester and celebrates nearly 25 years with us, some achievement! Our workshop team have mostly been with us for many years. We must be doing something right to earn their long service. We value each one and are proud of their commitment to us and more importantly to you and your car.
We appreciate the part many of our customers have made in supporting us from our very early days as a fledgling business. The support we receive in gratitude and thanks from so many loyal customers is something we appreciate and value more than we can say.
We can service & repair your Hybrid Car? Here at Field's Car Centre we have experienced staff and the necessary equipment to service and maintain Hybrid vehicles. Hybrid cars really aren't that complicated, add an electric motor and re-chargeable batteries to the conventional petrol engine and see your fuel efficiency increase considerably.
