Lee Sinclair has Directed the company since 1974 - he studied three dimensional design at Hornsey College of art in London. His exemplary skills as a designer and a craftsman means that Lee has a depth of understanding of the material, how to stay sustainable and still produce the luxury finish that is so important to the company. Jill Sinclair does the upholstery with the careful attention to detail that makes our furniture so distinctive. Lee Sinclair’s assistant craftsman, Nick Gilbey, has been with him since 1986 and knows the high standards required to produce the luxury finish.
Joining the team in 2013 is Lee’s son in law Daniel Griffin and daughter Rosalind Sinclair. Dan is an experienced designer/maker with fresh new ideas to push the business forward. Lee’s daughter Rosalind has lots of experience managing businesses.
Daniel Griffin & Rosalind Sinclair are continuing the ethos of top quality, bespoke furniture, timeless design, and the sustainability of resources. Their previous careers in the London art and design world have provided them the opportunity to work alongside some well known interior designers and architects, as well as the influential trend setters of contemporary furniture design. The aim is to continue to produce bespoke, handmade furniture under the name of Lee Sinclair Furniture and also take a range of batch furniture to retail under the name of
Together we design furniture for you, working with your style to produce something unique and personal to you. We produce by hand in our Nottinghamshire workshop and welcome visits mid production so that you can see the process.
Lee Sinclair Furniture donate to the Woodland trust regularly and with every bespoke piece of furniture we make, we ensure that a tree is planted in a near by forest called Goltho wood. You will receive a certificate of authenticity with your purchase.
We are also sustainable in many other ways. We have a solar kiln onsite and keep wastage down to a minimum. What wood we do have spare, we use to heat our house. We buy our wood from a certified local wood yard that source their wood from certified forests.
