We take a person-centred approach so we can identify which areas of support will be most helpful to each individual, and will work with those that we support to ensure that their choices and goals are at the heart of everything that we do. By accessing the support options available, the people we support can progress through our care pathways, developing their levels of independence and understanding of their own condition. We believe that everyone, regardless of their diagnosis, has the right to the same life opportunities.

Our philosophy

At Cornerstones we ensure that the Service User is central to all support. We enable and support people to make informed decisions, whether that is the people who are using our service or those acting on behalf of them. We recognise and promote diversity, individual values and human rights, whilst maintaining privacy and independence at all times. We aim to enable people to live a fulfilling life, with dignity, supported by experienced and trained staff. We value and respect each person as an individual, each with different needs and wishes. We want the people who use our service to have a relaxed, enjoyable life, where they feel at home and have the help they need. Family and friends are welcomed and can visit at any time. Each Service User will receive a personal, individualised service, which emphasises his or her own choice. We actively encourage Service Users and their Families to participate in how our services are run. Our principles of our service drive our attitude and care and formalise our feelings about the users of our service. These are well – understood and adhered to by all Cornerstones staff –not just carers!
