ABOUT GOLDEN CROSS CHEESE COMPANY LIMITED
Golden Cross Cheese Company is a family owned business run by Kevin & Alison Blunt at Greenacres Farm, Holmes Hill, East Sussex. Together with Matthew, one of their three sons, and 3 part-time staff they have produced soft mould ripened goats and sheep milk cheeses since 1989.
Neither Kevin nor Alison was born into a farming family and neither planned a farming life. They met at university where Kevin completed a degree in Biochemistry while Alison obtained a degree in Human Biology with a nursing option. Kevin went to help his stepfather in the holidays when he was managing a farm in the north of England and something clicked. As a nurse Alison was able to follow Kevin around the country while he gained experience in stock and dairy farming -always his first love.
Whilst visiting Alison�s parents in Eastbourne they had a look at 6 acres with barns and a mobile home and with the enthusiasm of youth took the plunge. A meeting with a frenchman selling his goat farming and cheese making business was a major turning point.
