ABOUT JAVELIN RETAIL LIMITED
Originally a sports retailer, opening in 1989, Javelin has evolved and developed with fashion trends, new brands and customer needs. We are consistently updating the products on offer as Javelin strives to offer its fashion forward customers new and exciting, high quality fashion and lifestyle. The Javelin brand continues to grow, now occupying three stores; the flagship Bury St Edmunds store, the Sudbury Anchor Womenswear store, the Sudbury Men and Espresso Bar incorporating the Javelin Outlet.
1953 Robert H Clayton opens Clayton Sports at 4a the Traverse, Bury St Edmunds selling traditional sportswear, along with fishing tackle and guns.
1986 Robert's son Jeremy joins the family business in Bury St Edmunds and introduces an expanded range of skiwear.
2008 Javelin in Bury St Edmunds expands to include 38 Abbeygate St and the store now offers in excess of 3500 sq feet of selling space.
