Christian's career started after graduating with a Distinction in Master of Philosophy in Environmental Planning, and being awarded the RTPI Prize. He worked in London and then went to join a busy planning practice based in Henley. His work there was focused on rural issues, as well as listed buildings and conservation areas in Central London and in the historic towns of the Thames Valley.
He moved to a larger practice based in Windsor, where work expanded into commercial and large volume house-builders. He was involved in projects ranging from major mixed-use development proposals in the South East and in London to advising householders and small businesses. Christian was a former runner-up in the annual RTPI 'Young Planner of the Year' competition.
Christian established Leigh & Glennie Ltd in 2002 to provide a cost-effective service for his diverse client base in the private and public sector. His work continues to encompass commercial and residential projects in both the town and the country. Legal issues, enforcement, listed buildings, heritage appraisals and conservation areas are a particular specialism.
Christian is currently a guest lecturer in planning law and practice at the Henley Business School, University of Reading, which is ranked No. 1 in Europe for Land and Property Management.
Administrative support is provided by Jane, who ensures the efficient running of the company.
