Andrew's career to date embraces the profession of accountancy, entrepreneurial business (two businesses started and managed) and his main focus, executive development. Since 1996 Andrew has helped a range of businesses that include professional firms, 'Blue Chip' multinationals and smaller entrepreneurial businesses. This work is largely carried out in the UK but also includes Europe, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and the USA. Andrew spends the majority of his time working with professional services firms. These include Baker Tilly, Berwin Leighton Paisner, Deloitte, Linklaters and Reed Smith.

Andrew is experienced in most aspects of management skills and development, particularly focused on 'the people side' of management, i.e. what behaviours are effective in helping individuals and teams to be successful. Andrew has a very strong track record in relation to Leadership, Personal Impact, Client Relationship Management and Business Development skills.

Andrew has been awarded an advanced post-graduate diploma in Executive Coaching with the Academy of Executive Coaching - which is accredited by the International Coaching Federation. Typically Andrew works with his clients for a 6 month period to address specific objectives. He has developed his own coaching model (Wonderspace) which he developed through a combination of his own experiences and by drawing from a diverse range of models and approaches. Andrew encourages his clients to gain a greater insight into their world and helps them to explore and 'wonder' about new possibilities and choices. Creating a robust and authentic relationship of trust forms a key part of his approach.

He is qualified to Level B with the British Psychological Society and uses a wide range of psychometric tools and coaching techniques. Andrew is a certified trainer for Edward de Bono's Six Thinking Hats which is a tool used to improve thinking, creativity, and overcome unproductive behaviour in groups.

Building on the success of a major Executive Coaching assignment run across Europe in 2010/11 we are now looking to deliver similar programmes for our client globally.

We have a long history of delivering for clients around the world. One of our first assignments when forming Gordon Cooper Associates back in 1996 took us to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. It is however fair to say that the bulk of our work to date has been carried out in Europe.

In creating our global team we have adopted the same approach we used back in 1996 to build our UK and then European team. We are either approached by, or identify highly experienced and qualified coaches as potential team members.

Only when we are satisfied that a coach has the appropriate experience, qualifications and more importantly shares our values, do we look to bring them into our team. In many cases we will have spent a long time getting to know the potential team member before we make a formal approach. This is however only the start of the process; in order to build a truly strong and dynamic team you need great communication, regular contact and reasons to work collaboratively.

We are currently working with our client to create a global contract for coaching that enshrines the excellence they have experienced in our work in Europe whilst also reflecting the different commercial realities region to region.

Presentations on blended learning solutions, executive coaching, building a coaching culture, 360 degree feedback and psychometrics, supervision, research, and team coaching provided a fantastic vehicle for communicating ideas and sharing expertise across the full range of our services.
