International Total Services Limited (ITS) is an approved Heathrow Security Company and has been providing security services to the Aviation Industry in the UK since 1993. All ITS uniformed security staff are trained to CAA standard and have Criminal Record Check clearance. They also have an understanding of air cargo procedures.

Increased security procedures have had a marked effect on the cargo industry. To facilitate the movement of cargo, companies can benefit from applying for Listed Status from the CAA. For example, airlines receiving export cargo from a Listed Freight Forwarder can be confident that all mandatory security measures have been carried out and the consignments are safe for onward transportation. Companies who achieve Listed Status are able to secure a favoured position within the marketplace, and undoubtedly increase their business.

One of the Civil Aviation Authority's responses to increased security threats of international and national terrorism was to impose stricter screening requirements upon the aviation cargo industry. While any measures to protect life and livelihoods are welcome, the new legislation does represent a financial burden, particularly for smaller companies trying to compete in a global arena.
