Educational Play is a family run business that has been supplying schools for over two decades. We started 25 years ago having made a playhouse for our own children, only to find word spread! Soon we were making playhouses for friends and family and, not long after, it had become our business. From the early days we have worked closely with nurseries and schools. This has coincided with a growing appreciation of the importance of using space and time outside for children, not least to stimulate imaginative play.
All our products are wooden structures. It's a great material to work with and allows us to transform ideas, yours, ours and your children's, into reality. So while we have an extensive range of products we encourage ideas on how we can adapt them to perfectly suit your environment.
We have assembled a carefully chosen selection of products based on our knowledge of the education sector and with a huge amount of feedback from teachers, parents and children. Uppermost in our criteria for products and suppliers is safety. There are many other criteria of course such as creativity and durability, but safety is not for negotiation. This applies to the quality of design, manufacture and finishing and extends to time on site delivering and installing.

Our delivery and installation team are all DBS certified and have lots of experience of working in schools. We usually send 2 people for each delivery and installation and can provide you with the names of those who will be visiting your school, ahead of time.
Production
We have a team of skilled wood-workers in our workshops, who manufacture and paint all our products. We are keen to make effective use of current technology where applicable, however, our emphasis as a business is on skilled people building quality, bespoke, hand-built products to ensure that carpentry skills are both kept alive and valued.
We aim to provide a friendly and professional service to all our customers. We are here to help at all stages of your purchase; from your initial contact with us, the design process through to delivery and installation and will be on hand to answer questions and provide clarification for anything you are unsure about. The range of products quickly expanded, coinciding with a growing recognition from the education sector of the importance of outside play and providing resources to inspire imaginative play and learning. Educational Play was formed and Kay, who has a background with pre-school providers, became the guardian of products which not only look nice in the playground but act as magnets to children to enjoy, play, rest and learn together.
The business has expanded from Richard's workshop and is now supplying schools across the country. At the heart of all we do remains our commitment to innovative design, high quality build to exacting safety standards and the very best customer service.
