At our Christmas party we had a male colleague who collapsed and remained unconscious for a long time with a serious anaphylactic shock. It was great to see all our first aiders at the party immediately go to his aid after attending your last training session. They performed brilliantly until the paramedics and ambulance came. Whilst it gives huge comfort to me as company owner, it must also give a lot of pleasure to you knowing that your training really does help in real situations.
The whole way through the programme it has felt like a pure partnership as opposed to ‘having training done to us’. The quality of training delivered has been superb and JLT have demonstrated the agility to mould and shape the content to meet evolving business needs... We see the Higher Apprenticeship programme as a great way to organically grow and nurture our next generation of young professionals.

We have a number of JLT Apprentices at various stages of their Business Admin Apprenticeships, plus a recent new starter working through a Marketing Apprenticeship. The support given by all departments within JLT is excellent. I’ve found the staff to be professional at all times and committed to the development of the Apprentices, and to supporting my needs a business owner.
I think the Apprenticeship programme is a great way to kick start your career and give you all the skills and experience required to get ahead in the working world. Carrying out an Apprenticeship helps you to get real life experience in the work environment that you would miss out on if you went to university, which gives you a major advantage when progressing further as experience is what employers look for. Furthermore, it helps you to mature greatly as a person and gain a multitude of new personal skills such as confidence, focus and effective time management.
Having considered going to University, I decided that an Apprenticeship would give me a more valuable experience. My Apprenticeship provided an opportunity to begin my career in business development with a structured training plan, real work experience and a good salary. The Apprenticeship programme is both challenging and rewarding at the same time. I feel that JLT has opened new doors for me.
I have been working with my current employers for 3 years now, I have always been very keen to learn and progress within the company, I was extremely pleased when my manager explained they would like to progress me into management. My line manager felt the best route for me to do this would be to go through the route of a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Business Administration, thus giving me the skills to progress whilst I was still able to continue my current job on the same wage. I was 25 years old when I started my Apprenticeship, I am close to achieving this shortly, helping me to progress in to a management role. I have really benefited from doing this Apprenticeship, my tutor has been excellent in developing my skills, including time management, team leading and decision making. On the whole I feel a lot more confident moving in to this new role and the way in that I have learnt new job skills is a ‘win win’ situation for everybody!!!
Becoming an Apprentice meant I could learn new skills, gain experience, develop my confidence and achieve a qualification. It also meant I would get a salary. I feel my Apprenticeship has greatly enhanced my future career opportunities as I now have the experience and skills employers look for. The JLT Apprenticeship programme has helped me develop my knowledge and skills in a supported working environment.
