Sunburst Music Limited provides daytime and evening structured guitar lessons for the young learner through to the professional musician near Cardiff, Wales. In addition to guitar lessons, Sunburst Music offers support in music composition and music production.
Learners receive bespoke backing tracks, available for download from our website, to help develop note recognition and technique.
Intermediate and advanced players are able to develop lead guitar solos for modern graded examinations, with help given on a range of musical matters and chords.
Music Production
Music Technology can be studied as a separate topic, with advice given on recording and production techniques. Learners studying for ‘A’ level Music Technology at school or college can also be given extra help.
For over twelve years I worked for Rockschool Limited in a capacity as an external examiner in drums, bass, guitar, keyboards and vocals. This enabled me to assess standards, liaise with other examiners/ educationalists and work flexibly with the rock school board in scheduling examinations. For four years I worked as chief examiner for AX Music Wales, helping to develop an examination system and criterion which has full OFQUAL accreditation.
For the past ten years I have organised a 'Summer Guitar School' at a local primary, which helps to maintain motivation for the learner as well as improve on skills.
Over the past ten years I have co-written seven guitar books and written accompanying backing tracks, which have been received positively and led to progressive examination success.
