In 2001 we decided we would like to provide a service offering primarily, Mobile Hydraulic Repairs but also combine with it, a small element of tyre services specifically for the Agricultural sector. There were very limited options available to the farmer if they had a burst pipe and/or a punctured tyre, so we felt a service like ours could be significantly beneficial to the farmer as it would reduce their downtime in the event of a breakdown. This was because we would ‘go to them’ rather than what they had previously been used to – travelling to the nearest garage with their loose wheel and/or hydraulic hose. Initially, we chose the name ‘Dales Hydraulics’. With both of us coming from farming backgrounds and Tony having had experience associated to the farming industry, we wanted to offer a service that we felt, could, in some way benefit the farmer. The Hydraulic Repair Service was thus complimented with a Puncture Repair Service, repairing punctures on farm vehicles. Tony carried out all the mobile repairs and Julie worked part-time undertaking the administrative duties.
Although the Hydraulic Repairs worked well, it was the Puncture Repairs and Tyre Supply/Fitting service that particularly ‘took off’. The demand for Tyres and Puncture Repairs added with the convenience of a Mobile Service became more and more apparent and so in 2004 we changed our name to Dalesway Tyres and ceased offering the Hydraulic Service to concentrate solely on the tyre industry.
And really, our business has steadily grown from here. We gratefully put this down to our customers who continually recommend us to their friends and family. Word of mouth has been our best advertisement so far and hence this is what has helped our company grow.
We pride ourselves on the fantastic service that we offer. Being a small and family owned business we have an invested interest in ensuring our customers are happy with the service that we provide. We’re small enough to care but big enough to compete. The services we provide have extended over the years and we now offer the complete tyre service whether it’s tyres for your car, van, 4×4, farm vehicle, plant machinery or commercial vehicle, we cover them all.
