Our directors naturally play a major part in shaping our company and the service you receive from us.
Specialising in consultancy and IT clients, with a particular interest in startup businesses, Wendy joined Wettone Matthews in 2000, qualified in 2001 and became a director in 2009.
Phil is a registered auditor regularly involved in the more technical areas of accountancy. Phil joined Wettone Matthews in 2002, having qualified in 1989, and became a director in 2004. He has a vast experience of dealing with small to medium sized businesses.
Paul's father and grandfather were both accountants, so his passion for the profession was very much "in the blood". He has been working within the accountancy profession since leaving school in 1973, joining Wettone Matthews in 1985 and becoming a director in 2009. Paul has a particular interest in the construction industry.
The history of Wettone Matthews can be traced back some 50 years to an Accountant who practiced from an office in Market Street. This firm was taken over in the 1970s and the firm moved to Westbrooke House in Alton's High Street where Tim Wettone joined the firm in 1980.
He was joined in 1985 by two other partners, one of whom was Barbara Matthews and at the same time the firm acquired another, smaller practice with offices in Haslemere and Bordon.
The firm's name was changed in 1991 to Wettone Matthews and was based at Westbrooke House until 2010 when the Company moved into its current office at Market House in Lenten Street - which leads on from Market Street - where it all started 50 years ago!
