. We are both well qualified and experienced, with many years spent advising clients and helping them with their financial issues. Over the years, dealing with many clients from a variety of industries, we have gathered valuable knowledge by understanding their financial affairs, share option schemes and their personal or occupational pension schemes.
We spend a considerable number of hours each confirming and improving our knowledge through Continuing Professional Development (CPD). As you will be aware, there is constant legislative change, especially in relation to pensions and we always ensure that we understand and embrace change; ultimately to ensure accurate and relevant delivery of our advice.
As Mike and Peter are the only Registered Advisers at CC & Co, we are able to hold the status of a Chartered Financial Planning Firm. This status was granted in October 2012 and reflects our professional approach to our work, the competency and quality of the advice that we give and, a reward for hard work invested in achieving the examination awards through extensive study. At December 2012, from the same source noted above, there are only 425 Chartered Firms.
CC & Co was formed in 2001, after Mike and Peter had built up a wealth of experience at national advisory firms and insurance companies. Mike spent four years with Friends’ Provident and ten years at a major Benefit Consultancy Firm, the latter time advising Corporate and Individual clients. Peter worked for a specialist School Fees IFA, followed by a number of years at Halifax as an adviser and a manager. In each case, we both have over 25 years of industry experience.
Mike does some additional work as a Senior Examiner for our professional body, the Chartered Insurance Institute. This involves attending meetings to edit questions (for technical and legislative changes), writing examination questions and acting as a scrutineer. This is a role only handed to those with a high level of technical expertise and Mike has been doing this for over twenty years.
Our staff are knowledgeable, experienced and those in technical roles are qualified with relevant examinations. We have always encouraged our staff to improve their knowledge through study. This helps enormously when dealing with report compilation and administration; also, the many queries that arise when trying to smooth out problems caused by the Insurance Companies!
Our ethos has not changed since our formation. We endeavour to provide good quality financial planning advice, with the best interests of our clients at the centre of our advice proposition. We seek to offer ongoing and accessible advice at a fair price.
The quality and reliability of our advice is drawn from years of experience within the financial advice sector and a high level of technical knowledge as evidenced by our Chartered Financial Firm status. Mike Cresswell and Peter Cadenhead have both achieved the status of Chartered Financial Planner by examination. Our clients value the advice we give and we embrace the move to transparent charges and fees.
