After graduating in 1979 he formally started his accountancy career in 1980 with Peat Marwick Mitchell then (and also now as KPMG) one of the largest firms of chartered accountants in the world. He then went on to pursue a career path with a variety of smaller accountancy practices in the South Wales area. Having qualified in 1987 and having been offered a partnership with his last employer, he decided to set-up shop in October 1990 initially working from his home and then moving into his present offices in 1995.
