At Sun-hat Villas & Resorts we know a thing or two about luxury. As a leading ABTA luxury rental agency we have let romantic boltholes, exclusive villas and spectacular modern properties to our customers over the years. And, we’re obviously doing something right because you keep coming back.
Sun-hat was founded in 2001 by experienced travel professional, Peter Jenkins, who sought to make customers’ holidays truly memorable. Along with his dedicated team, the aim was to put the customer’s needs and desires at the very heart of the business, focusing on individual needs and requirements. This became a reality, and with an eclectic range of luxurious villas on offer, Sun-hat soon became the first choice for superior private accommodation in The Algarve. Building on their success they are now delighted to include Tuscany, Barbados and Mallorca amongst their collection.
Sun-hat’s story began in Portugal, when Peter worked for First Choice Holidays. Spending many weekends during the 1990s relaxing in the delightful Vale do Lobo, he realised the potential of the region. With breath-taking scenery, consistent wonderful weather and a collection of resorts and villas with first-rate facilities to rival anywhere in the world, Peter wanted to spread the word.
Since then the dedicated team at Sun-hat Villas & Resorts have passionately pursued luxury villas in the area, developing special relationships with the owners, who now come to them.
Although this is where Sun-hat’s journey began, the team have used all of their expertise to cultivate other territories, where their reputation is growing fast.

Peter started his travel career in Ibiza, holding a number of management positions across Europe for the likes of Sovereign, which later re-branded as First Choice. During his years in travel Peter has developed a passion for helping customers and loves creating a dream holiday for those who seek his help. Due to an ongoing love-affair with Portugal and Spain, having lived there and learned the language, his knowledge of the area is unsurpassed.
With 33 years of travel experience to her name, Ann offers a level of expertise in sales and customer service, which comes highly recommended by her loyal customers. Having worked in senior management positions across retail and business travel sectors, her expertise and love for the job with its everyday challenges make her a highly valued member of the team.
Claudia joined Sun-hat Villas & Resorts in 2016, bringing with her 5 years of expert travel knowledge. Having started her career as an apprentice at Thomas Cook, she soon worked her way up to being a valuable member of their senior team. Relishing the fast pace of the ever-changing travel industry, Claudia thoroughly enjoys planning her clients' holidays. Believing it's the small touches that make all the difference, she looks for the attention to detail to make a holiday truly wonderful.
Joining Sun-hat Villas in 2017, Roseanna is our newest member, but she's already made quite an impression on our customers. Possessing an innate ability to understand what people want from a holiday, she is able to introduce them to the perfect property and location. And, having worked at the likes of Inspired Luxury Escapes, Roseanna knows that it’s the attention to detail that goes a long way to making someone’s holiday really special. So don’t forget to ask about those extras such as arranging travel, tailor-made tours and suitable airport lounges. She likes a challenge.
Rob Knox - Product Manager
Working in the luxury family holiday industry since 1999 for Virgin Holidays and then Thomas Cook, Rob brings a wealth of experience to the team. Using his expertise and product knowledge, he loves to source the very best quality and value-for-money villas that are perfect for Sun-hat’s clients. Many of these properties are exclusive to Sun-hat Villas & Resorts.
Jo is a communicator. Having worked in the travel industry since the age of 19, she has worked at Thomas Cook and Style Holidays, delivering first-class customer experiences. Jo enjoys meeting new people (especially Sun-hat clients) and understands the true value of listening to what the customer wants.
Tourism is a passion for Sam. Having studied tourism at university in Portugal, she then spent 12 years working in the industry. This included customer-facing roles at Faro airport, where she realised her talent at interacting with others. With a passion for meeting people and a wealth of experience in the holiday sector, she is a well-respected member of the Sun-hat in-resort representative team.
Since joining the team in 2013, Lucian has looked after Sun-hat Villas & Resorts customers every summer season. As an experienced and dedicated member of the in-resort representative team, he is well-versed in assisting clients and helping in making their dream holiday become a reality. Fortunately, Lucian also has a degree in Computer Science Engineering, and is always on hand to help our customers with any questions of a more technical nature. Very handy...
Canadian-born Dave moved to the UK in the 1970s. Joining Sun-hat Villas as Finance Director in 2004, he has taken control of all the company’s accounting functions and all financial transactions, which he combines with his love of the travel industry.
