“I have over 13 years’ experience as a mould maker (although I actually started casting at eight – making lead miniatures in my friend’s kitchen). I was educated at Monkton Combe in Bath, followed by higher education in Art & Design. In 1994 I took up an apprenticeship with an artist in South Yorkshire.
“Since then I’ve worked around the UK and the world, initially as a painter, sculptor and teacher. In 2000 I decided to focus on mould making and casting. I was the head mould maker and production manager for two firms for 12 years until I decided to go freelance, launching Maddocks Mould Making in 2012. I have worked with all sorts of materials, and have been using Jesmonite longer than almost anyone else in this industry.

We use environmentally friendly materials where possible to deliver high quality reproductions in a variety of finishes. We cast resin bronze sculptures, fibreglass mouldings and cast stone in finishes such as granite, bath stone, marble, plaster, Jesmonite, resin, cold cast resin bronze and other metals as well as spray painted, gilded and patina finishes.
We use silicone rubber, polyurethane rubber and Jesmonite moulds for sculptures, garden ornaments and architectural, interior design and restoration features. We work one-to-one with our clients so that all aspects of the work are discussed and covered, and we will customize our work to their individual needs, delivering a unique high quality finish every time.
