Nigel is a qualified structural engineer and founding director of DETA 2000 Ltd. His work experience came from employment with large national companies based in Doncaster.
In the mid 1980’s Nigel became involved in Health & Safety training and development for Case. In 1997 Case gave Nigel an opportunity to take over their training centre and DETA was founded. Ten years later he is the sole director of DETA and very proud to be known as a provider of quality engineering training within the South Yorkshire area.

Ken White started his career as an apprentice maintenance engineer with a large manufacturing company in Doncaster, he progressed through the ranks and eventually became a production manager. A family man at heart, Ken decided that he wanted to spend more time with his family and in the early 80’s he joined the training department of Doncaster Council, he then moved to Rotherham Council before joining DETA as Centre Co-ordinator in October 2001. Ken’s current role involves supporting and assessing learners with their level 3 NVQs, ensuring all centre administration relating to the awarding body meets the required standards, internally verifying portfolios and liasing with external verifiers.
Before working for DETA 2000 John Rockley worked in the manufacturing and engineering industries in the UK and oversees where he gained experience in many different fields.
He has worked for DETA 2000 for nearly six years and his main role is to look after learners who have moved into companies and are working towards a level 3 qualification. Another role John is involved in is Equality and Diversity Training to new learners, would you believe!
