ILS was founded as Independent Living Solutions Ltd in 1992. Founded by Elaine Gipson, we began in a small office in Salisbury, Wiltshire.
Over the next 10 years ILS significantly grew. Our case management team developed across the UK, and we employed more head office staff in Wiltshire to support them, moving to a bigger office in Wilton. It was then in 2012 that ILS rehabilitation solutions was established. After recognising the need for more of a holistic care package, ILS rehabilitation solutions was set-up to provide a high quality range of specialist rehabilitation services.
To date, we are able to offer our clients case management and rehabilitation as separate services, or as a service package combining both, based on their needs.
Despite the development of the ILS brand throughout the years, our mantra remains the same: When a person’s life has been changed by injury, we address the practicalities. We work with children and adults who have had moderate through to catastrophic injury, complex disabilities and polytrauma. We work with clients who have acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, trauma injury, cerebral palsy, multiple orthopaedic injuries, and mental health issues. We assess individual needs and are able to provide a comprehensive case management and rehabilitation service designed to maximise independence.
Our Mission
To provide a high quality, comprehensive case management and rehabilitation service to people with all types of disability.
To work collaboratively and effectively with other professionals in order to provide the best service.
To provide a nationwide service with a local focus.
Our head office team in Wiltshire work to provide continuous support to our clients, case managers and therapists; we have dedicated operations, administration, IT, learning and development, Finance, HR, and Payroll teams in place to ensure that our clinicians can focus solely on the care of their clients whilst maximising efficiency, cost-effectiveness and value for money.
We offer an in depth payroll service, where everyone receives a dedicated payroll person. We calculate sick pay, annual leave entitlement, and with prior agreement we can make payments directly to HMRC and care staff. We provide workplace pension systems and these can be provided for everyone.
We provide an online client notes facility and an in-depth documentation procedure.
We are experts in supporting 24 hour care teams, we have recruited, supported and managed over 500 carers.
ILS is registered and inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
We place huge importance on maintaining professional standards. Each case manager and therapist has a professional mentor or coordinator who is highly experienced in case management and working with ILS. Not only do mentors provide support to their case managers, they are also there to provide cover when the case manager is away, for example, on holiday.
We are the only case management company who provide an internal conference to all staff. Our conference is now an integral part of company life; providing an important opportunity for all of our case managers, rehabilitation solutions therapists, management teams and head office staff to integrate and undertake training. We invite distinguished speakers from the healthcare and rehabilitation industries to join us to provide specialist training to the teams.
Not only is this aspect of our work incredibly important to us, but to the charities that provide such incredible care for clients just like ours.
As an employer, ILS has earned a reputation for being a company that people are proud to work for. We value our people and the skills, expertise, experience and qualities that they bring. We have a very stable workforce and people tend to stay with us for a long time; more than half of our staff have been with us for more than 5 years.
We believe in developing people as individuals and if you join us, you’ll be offered first-class opportunities to learn, progress and develop your skills. We encourage people to engage with the development of the business and ensure they feel part of our success.
