Having joined us in 2001 as a Service Advisor, I studied in his own time to develop my interest in I.T into a new career. I'm also a keen photographer and my work space is adorned with beautiful shots of my boy.
My colleagues and customers describe me as crazy, creative,and a breath of fresh air. I'm interested in Digital Marketing and my Personal goal is to develop my skills in this area. The best bit about working at The Holden Group is the work/life balance and the opportunites to progress your career.
About Holden Group
Holden began trading in 1928, then known as the Reliance Garage Ltd. The owners employed a young apprentice Ernest Holden in their vehicle workshops. Ernest bought the business in 1943. Since Ernest his son Tony and Grandson Tim have both followed in his footsteps, meaning to this day Holden remains a local family business that has earned an enviable reputation for looking after it’s customers and it’s employees.
1933 - Business is awarded it’s first franchise, Dodge Trucks. Business relocates to Haymarket.
1940 - Ernest appointed Manager. His hard work ethic and commitment to serving others became the principles on which both he and the company would build their future.
1960 - Ernest’s son Tony, now a fully trained mechanic joins the business.
1970 - The Holden Group Ltd is formed to accommodate a growing business and becomes nationally recognised within the Motor Industry as company that values their customers.
1984 - Ernest retires from the business. Having successfully turned a small workshop into a customer orientated multi franchise car and truck business with a multi million £ turnover.
1995 - Holden Group is awarded coveted Investors in People. Honda joins the Holden Group brand.
1995 - Isuzu, Subaru, Hyundai, Saab, Mitsubishi, Chrysler and Jeep join the Holden Group brand.
2001 - The Volvo franchise leaves Holden Group after 32 years, they are replaced by MG Rover.
2001 - Holden Group becomes a 3rd generation family business as Tim Holden joins as a sales executive for Chrysler.
2007 - Tim Holden is appointed CEO continuing the renowned family business reputation.
2010 - Holden Group wins ‘Most Improved Business’ following the 2008 recession at the annual Motor Trader industry awards.
2011 - After a 10 year absence, Volvo returns to Holden Group.
2012 - Volvo wins the best new business award at the annual Motor Trader industry awards.
Meet the Holden Group team
It takes a lot of computers to keep things happening at Holden Group, which is why we have our own IT wizard in the shape of Simon. Having joined us in 2001 as a Service Advisor, he studied in his own time to develop his interest in IT into his new career. He’s also a keen photographer and his work space is adorned with beautiful shots of his new baby boy.
Steve also known as Seb, has been with the company for more than 25 yrs. He knows his Hondas from his Renaults; he’s worked on pretty much every brand we’ve ever had, but has since settled into life as a Honda technician. In between tinkering with engines, he’s toured the globe with the TA and has been on active duty in Iraq, Cyprus and most recently Afghanistan. We’re glad he’s back.
By his own admission, Paul likes to take things apart and put them back together again. Couple this with an interest in cars and engines and 27yrs later you have yourself a very experienced technician. Your car couldn’t be in better hands. He transferred to Holden when the Volvo brand came back home. When he’s not getting cars back on the road you’ll find him riverside; fishing for carp.
My experience at Holden Honda was cracking because Dealt with Tim Willrich, he was extremely helpful, bearing in mind that I hadn't seen the vehicle, from photo's and conversation, I was more than happy too purchase the car over the phone. For reassurance, Tim did a walk around video for me of the car inside and out, and the following day paid in full, prior too collection, completely relaxed that the car was in A1 perfect condition, and I certainly wasn't disappointed, plus, peace of mind to have Volvo Selekt Warranty.
My experience at Holden Honda was memorable because the sale executive Phil Cooke went above and beyond to make buying the vehicle as good as experience as possible. Nothing was too much trouble . I had to rely on his honesty and professionalism about the car as I traveled 430 miles to collect the car . From my enquiry about the car where I had a video of the car as a reply which really impressed me ,Phil kept me up to date every step of the way . I can not speak highly enough of my overal experience..it was definitely worth the 860 miles around trip .. I have a few issues with the car but I’m sure my local Honda dealership can sort them under warranty .. Thank you Holden Honda for the high level of service you provided and making my experience with you so pleasant and memorable.
