The Company
1st Choice Nursing & Care Services Ltd is a small friendly Company, which was established in April 1992 by Chris and Kim Dunn to meet the needs of individuals and their carers in the community.
Over the years, 1st Choice has become a leading provider for quality care service and have worked with local County Councils and Health Authorities. We have also worked with hundreds of clients on a private basis and have received excellent feedback.
The Company is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) under the Health and Social Care Act 2008. We are also members of the United Kingdom Home Care Association (UKHCA).
Kim Dunn worked in the Health Service for 20 years before establishing 1st Choice Nursing and Care Services. She has managed a number of projects including the establishment of community services and community mental health teams, as well as managing all patient services at a large mental health hospital. She has also held other roles in child health and elderly services. Kim has a Diploma in Health Service Management and a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management. She is also an NVQ Assessor and Internal Verifier.
Chris has worked as a registered nurse, working with patients with challenging behavior and learning disabilities, both in the community and in hospital environments. He is a qualified assessor and is always ensuring that the training materials being delivered are to a high standard. Chris specialised in Health and Safety and Adult Abuse and has been an advisor to the Company in these areas. As well as his nursing qualifications he holds a CertEd and is an NVQ Assessor and Internal Verifier.
