The Lancashire based Prolight Concepts Group Ltd was established in 1996 in Bolton, before moving to Bury, and then onto its current home in Darwen in 2003. Prolight has experienced tremendous growth since inception over 20 years ago and the 37,000sq/ft complex now integrates the companies expansive warehouse, showroom, repair centre and offices.
Managing Director, Andrew Jeffrey, started as a mobile DJ when he was 14. After leaving school, he went on to work in a DJ retail store, where he was promoted to Manager at only 19 years young, and within another two years, he bought the company outright. Before long, Andrew started looking for alternative products overseas, which his competitors did not do; this search led him to develop an extensive knowledge of the European lighting market.
Retail sales continued to grow and in 1994 they became one of the largest and most respected DJ stores in the UK. Many stores from around the country heard about these new types of European effects and wanted to stock them to sell. From this, Andrew recognised a need for a quality lighting supplier, thus inspiring him to set up the distribution company, The Prolight Concepts Group Ltd.
The number of dealers was steadily growing, as were the products, which were now being sourced from China and added to the growing catalogue. Andrews’ extensive knowledge and drive to service other areas of the industry saw the development of further lighting and audio solutions, this opened up sales avenues in other sectors, giving the Proight Concepts Group Ltd a wider market share.
To this day, Andrew and the Prolight Concepts Group team are dedicated to providing a full, efficient and ever-developing service, and continue to work closely with their suppliers, to offer customers the same build quality and affordability they know and expect.
