We are a family run company based in the West Country trading in Oak products since 1999.
I have had 25 years of experience in the timber business. I initially studied for a forestry degree and worked as a forester for two years before branching out into secondary timber products by gaining a Masters Degree in Timber Technology. I worked in Africa for 6 years gaining experience in hardwood forestry and sawmilling. I then worked for a national company importing timber from around the world to the UK and then managed a small company involved principally with home grown hardwoods with a specific interest in oak flooring.
With this background I decided to start my own company that can offer customers the best oak available in Europe, hardwood flooring from the tropics and the finest decking from Brazil all machined to the highest standards. We supply anywhere in the UK and in the past, our flooring has been supplied as far away as the Outer Hebrides, France and Switzerland.
We are absolutely thrilled with our oak floor from The Oak Flooring Company. Having got fed-up with the impracticality of cream carpet, we decided to take the plunge and replace it with oak right through our main living area and we are so pleased that we did. I had worried that wood flooring might feel cold after fitted carpet but this could not be further from the truth. The oak has a wonderfully warm honey tone and the detail in the grain is just stunning. And of course, unlike carpet it reflects the light which is great news if you want more daylight in your home especially during the winter. It is fabulous to walk on bare-foot and whilst we had intended to put some rugs down, now we simply don't want to cover any of it up! Investing in such a quality product we decided to use The Oak Flooring Company's recommended fitter to get a really first-class professional finish. There were some potentially tricky areas to negotiate, steps for example and we didn't want to leave anything to chance. Again, we couldn't be more delighted with the finished article. We are also grateful for the personal care and attention shown by The Oak Flooring Company from initial discussions right through the process to completion. We were well informed and advised at every stage along the way and were never in any doubt as to what was happening next. This meant that any potential stress was kept to an absolute minimum.
