We are delighted to report that Sudbury Town Residents Association (STRA) has been appointed as a Neighbourhood Forum by London Borough of Brent.
The purpose of Neighbourhood Planning is to give local people greater ownership of the plans and policies that affect their local area. We are being given the opportunity to take a proactive role in shaping the future of our area in which we live. The plan will be a framework for change in our area for the next ten years.
The Neighbourhood Planning will help communities to play a greater role in finding creative and imaginative ways to overcome the pressures that development can create for conservation and local services and amenities. It could also help ensure that development is in line with local needs, provides greater public amenity and more certainty for developers.” Colin Buchanan, Neighbourhood Planning.
STRA will shortly be holding a consultation exhibition on the Issues and Options relating to Sudbury Town. On the day more information on the suggested plans for Sudbury Town will be on displayed. The date and time for the exhibition will shortly be published here on our site so do visit us again soon. But in the meantime time here is an opportunity in advance of exhibition to see the prepared Issues and Options report and after reading and digesting the information please use the leaflet below to share your thoughts. They will be collated and provided as part of the consultation.
With 180 members we have achieved a lot, but we need more and you can make a difference by joining us. We meet regularly at Sudbury Methodist Church Hall, 809 Harrow Road. You are welcome to attend these meetings to meet the members before you join and make your voice heard. We are beginning to add more social events to our web page, e.g., annual dinner, cycling club, pub quiz team at the Black Horse as well as many other activities on offer in Sudbury.

The VYC search function is based on synonyms. So, a user cannot type any word or phrase into the search bar then select & vote for it. For example, while the search function does recognise “mugging” you cannot select that word. The search bar will give you the options of “Business robbery”, “Personal robbery” or “Theft from a person”. This list of synonyms is exhaustive, but the designers will not have been able to identify every possible issue. However they will be able to see what terms people are entering in the search bar, & they will add further concerns based on this data.
Having voted, you will be taken to a page where you can see your votes & where you have the option to “Tell Us More”. After clicking through “Tell Us More”, you will be able to provide more detail about your concerns via an online form, such as where & when it is happening & who is involved. You will also be able to enter your details so that if needs be, we the local Safer Neighbourhood Team can contact you to gain more detail. The words on the form have been carefully written so that the person submitting the concern should not automatically expect a response, even if you do enter full contact details.
Submitted forms will come through to our SNT mailbox, & will be checked every shift that we are on duty.
