CCA flourished from the consulting activity of Bernard Coleman. After a distinguished career in the cement and lime industry, serving as a Director and CEO in several countries for the prominent cement manufacturing companies of Heidelberg and Holcim, he established Cement Consultancy Service in 1990 to provide the benefit of his wide experience to third parties.
He founded The Cement Register Ltd as an operating and maintenance (O&M) contractor to cement plant owners. The company also provides a recruitment service for senior personnel seeking appointments in the industry.
Cement Consultancy Associates Limited was established in 1995 in partnership with Norman Beaumont; a mechanical engineer with 40 years’ experience in the cement industry working for equipment suppliers and contractors, international cement manufacturers and consultancies. Norman has particular expertise in process design, plant specification, contract negotiation, project management, project engineering and commissioning of cement plants.
After working on varied projects for Rugby Cement Company Ltd (now Cemex) both in the UK and overseas he moved to Malaysia with WS Atkins Consulting Engineers. He later worked on several Atkins consultancy projects in the UK and then moved to Castle Cement Company Ltd as project manager and senior engineer for capital projects. These included the construction of their new kiln line in Wales.
VAV is a specialized company for cement plant project engineering with a core team of highly specialized engineers (process, mechanical, electrical, automation and civil), with up to 20 years’ experience in the design, engineering, and operation of cement plants.
Particular specialization exists for the process departments: raw material grinding, precalciner, preheater, kiln, cooler and cement milling. This expertise has been provided to more than 20 main projects – both as a main designer or as sub-contractor – for highly reputed industry suppliers including KHD, Fuller and FLSmidth.

He widened his scope to cement manufacturing and spent 20 years as an executive with the world’s leading international cement producers. He established his own consulting practice in 1995.
Simon is a mechanical engineer who joined CCA having extensive operational experience in the UK’s largest construction material company. He has guided a full-time senior team for many years in an environment maximising operational and safety performance.
