At Eurocarb quality is paramount. For us, compliance with standards is not sufficient and we operate a continuous improvement policy throughout the business. Our system was first certified by BSi in 1993. We pride ourselves on our ability to deliver on time, right first time, every time.
Eurocarb has a proactive approach to compliance. We are registered with SGS and undertake a number of regular checks across all our internal and customer relevant processes to ensure the best possible products and services for our customers.
Eurocarb is positioned to offer NSF approved products direct from our parent company Haycarb PLC. This includes compliance with NSF/ANSI 42, required in many cases for drinking water applications.
Our extensive range of granular and pelletised products are also available in impregnated form, utilising selected impregnants designed to enhance the overall performance for specialist applications.
Haycarb had been marketing its coconut shell activated carbon products directly to European customers from its inception in 1973; however in 1986 it was decided to launch subsidiaries in the UK and Australia to accelerate developments in the market. Local carbon experts Don Tyreman and Malcolm Edwards were recruited and soon had the blending and impregnation plant set up in Bristol. Eurocarb thrived from the start, offering competitive high quality products. Eurocarb first achieved ISO 9001 certification in 1993 and has maintained this ever since. Growth was steady, and in recent years the warehouse space has been tripled and technical capabilities have been enhanced to keep up with demand. We continue to grow rapidly and make significant investments in capability.
Haycarb PLC, formed in 1973, is Eurocarb’s parent company. Haycarb is a leading global player of Coconut Shell Activated Carbon. From a single kiln factory over 40 years ago the company has grown its production capability to 6 manufacturing plants across 3 countries with an annual production capacity in excess of 40,000 tonnes. In addition to holding ISO 9001 & 14001 certification the company is also renowned throughout the industry as a true pioneer of sustainable manufacturing processes, including the unique Recogen carbon-neutral industrial charcoaling operation.
With a focus on innovation, technical excellence and long-term business relationships, Haycarb’s turnover exceeded $90 million in 2016/2017.

Coconut shell activated carbon can be a green choice, offering a truly sustainable product for the long term. As long as coconut plantations are managed in a sustainable manner, the resource is fully renewable.
Haycarb has therefore developed their own industrial charcoaling operation at the Badalgama site in Sri Lanka. Winning the prestigious National Science and Technology Award for Eco-friendly processes in 2007, the Recogen business now produces more than 25% of Haycarb’s charcoal needs.
Using traditional waste materials from domestic sources, collected by new private collection enterprises which provide jobs in rural areas.
Our customers can also benefit from this technology by using activated carbon with a lower footprint, either through partial use of this char, or through exclusive use in the NeutroCarb branded products.
