BLACKSMITH FREIGHT SERVICES LIMITED was established in 1998 as a privately owned, independent freight forwarder, specialising in transporting vast amounts of freight consignments all over the globe by air, sea and road. The company has grown considerably since its establishment and is now a strong competitor within the international transportation and logistics market. As a result of its expansion total UK coverage now exists, with offices situated in Manchester and London.
Blacksmith Freight is a full trading member of the British International Freight Association (BIFA), the main body recognised for representing the freight industry in the UK. Electronically linked to H.M. Customs and Excise, we are able to expedite customs clearance on import consignments at our depots and at all other major UK ports and airports. We are also electronically linked to the Chamber of Commerce and all major airlines serving Manchester. All shipments are tracked and traced via our computer network system until they have been safely delivered to the customer’s door. With our large network of agents, we can arrange deliveries to almost any location and ensure a high level of service to all our clients’ shipments.
Blacksmith’s main aims have been to provide a unique personal service and a greater level of flexibility than traditionally found by some of the larger freight forwarders. Our highly dedicated and professional team deliver logistical solutions and recognise the importance of reliability and the necessity of providing our customers with competitive rates and superior quality.
