Further information about Thompson Dunn

Pat leads the Thompson Dunn team by focusing on client needs, delivering to time and cost and above all by highlighting the critical importance of the human aspects of private equity activities in order to deliver high performance.

Pat is an expert in the field of leadership assessment and development with over 25 years of international experience working with top level individuals, teams and organisations. She helps leaders to strategically grow their organisations through people, whether in selection, promotion or when people need to move on.

She has assessed and coached hundreds of executives from many different countries and cultures. She continues to assess and develop top teams across a wide range of organisations and enjoys facilitating and teaching diverse groups. Pat’s interests are in working with whole organisations, understanding organisational culture and creativity in business.

Pat’s business expertise began in recruitment working as a pioneering business psychologist for Michael Page and later Whitehead Mann in the audit and assessment of top teams. Her career began in education where she was a senior psychologist for the Inner London Education Authority.

Pat is currently writing her first book – “Under the Boardroom Table” that addresses Board level decision-making and the setting of corporate culture.

Pat has an honours degree in Psychology and Certificate in Education from Manchester University. She holds an Msc in Developmental Psychology from London University Institute of Education and later she studied for a further Msc in Organisational Consulting from Ashridge Management College. She is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, Member of the Associations of Business and Educational Psychology and was recently invited to become a Fellow of the Royal College of Medicine.

Charlotte graduated last year with a BSc (Hons) Psychology and Counselling degree from the University of Surrey. This year she has also completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling Skills at City University. She is currently completing an MSc in Occupational and Organisational Psychology at the University of Surrey, and is working towards her Occupational Psychology Chartership.

During her time at Thompson Dunn, Charlotte has provided administrative support for personality and ability measures, and assisted with workshops and PR events. She has had work experience in various sectors, including translating, advertising and marketing, and personal finance. Charlotte particularly enjoys working collaboratively with organisations to help them identify their unique characteristics and needs to formulate their own solutions. By developing her understanding of an organisation’s vision, objectives and priorities, and combining it with her knowledge of human behaviour, she has been able to make recommendations that have helped to increase performance, productivity and job satisfaction.

Charlotte enjoys working voluntarily for the community and is presently involved in Kingston Borough Council Children Fund’s ‘Big Buddy’ project. This is a proactive one-to-one mentoring service which tackles disadvantage among children who are less likely to achieve good outcomes. The aim is to make a difference in their lives by helping them to reach their fullest potential and prevent more serious problems developing at a later stage.
