Who we are

Railway Wheelset and Brake Limited (formerly Railway Wheelsets) was first established in 1988 by Mike Hart OBE. Our core business services the Wheel Centre, Monobloc Wheel, Tyre, Axle and Brake Equipment requirements of the UK mainline railway industry, as well as light transit, London Underground and preservation/ heritage railways.

Since our formation, RWB together with its quality assured and accredited suppliers, has delivered thousands of wheels, tyres, axles and brake components into the UK rail industry. With an ever expanding customer base and product range, RWB pride ourselves in fulfilling customer needs and requirements by supplying the highest quality products.

RWB’s extensive background and knowledge of the rail industry accrued over several decades enables the company to offer its customers a unique and in-depth understanding of wheelset components and their technical specification.

This understanding has led RWB to supplying almost all the UK’s rail vehicle maintenance and overhaul companies and has resulted in customers returning to RWB time and time again, not solely for the supply of components but also to make use of the company’s industry knowledge and experience.

To satisfy the requirements of the railway industry all RWB’s wheel, tyre and axle supply have RISAS approval for use on the UK mainline railways. All products are manufactured under ISO 9001:2008 certification and RWB’s principle suppliers have been and continue to be independently audited by UK specialists. If required, RWB are more than happy to carry out additional testing over and above that which is normally required to ensure that the specific needs of the customer are satisfied.
