Euronav have been involved in the design, development and sale of Marine navigation systems from the early 1990's, producing one of the first PC chart plotters available(PC Wayplanner) interfacing to a GPS. Wayplanner used the first full paper quality digital vector digital charts, providing many of the features of today's S57 charts.
The flagship product is the seaPro Navigation Software range which has been adapted to cater for the many specialisations and niches in the marine sector including tidal passage planning, weather routing, collision avoidance, tracking etc. seaPro products can currently be found all over the world, guiding cruising boats in the Pacific Ocean, protecting Oil and Rig Platforms in the Persian Gulf and Piloting tankers into ports worldwide.
If going on a cruise you might well see the Euronav Passenger Information System (PI3000) feeding information, maps and safety announcements onto large screen TV’s in the foyers and cabins. Some of the most famous Cruise liners are now using the system.
seaPro supports multiple formats, including S57 ENC (S63 1-1), providing worldwide coverage with weekly updates. Euronav also produce their own format of vector charts - using Admiralty data and colours schemes - for use in the leisure or sub ECDIS commercial market, where weekly updates are not required.
The charting software engine behind Livecharts can also be harnessed by third parties in their own products by using the OEM kit. This easy to implement mapping system has been used as a basis for a wide range of applications, including some well known navigation products, fleet management systems and web servers.
Euronav also designs bespoke systems and can tailor the seaPro software for special applications. If you need hardware, Euronav are primary suppliers for leading manufacturers such as SAAB, Comar, Koden and Digital Yacht.
