ABOUT CONSULTAVIA LIMITED
Consultavia has been retained by coastguard agencies since 1996 to draft invitations to tender, to assess the candidate proposals, to recommend the most cost effective options, to audit the selected contractor's helicopter operation, and to provide ad hoc advice on all aviation matters. The audits confirm operational, contractual and safety standards are being met, identify corrective actions where applicable, and assess and confirm their implementation; the process has proved cost-effective to the agencies, producing savings which well exceeded the cost of the audit as well as enhancing safety and operational effectiveness. Also, Consultavia has provided advice to the International Maritime Organisation on fixed and rotary wing SAR options for member nations.
Consultavia is retained by three lighthouse authorities to provide advice and consultancy concerning the helicopters which support the inspection and maintenance of their lighthouses. The clients receive contracting, auditing and advice services similar to those for the SAR authorities, but the work also includes contributing to the formulation of Joint Aviation Requirements which might otherwise impinge on the effectiveness of lighthouse support helicopters.
Consultavia has helped two utilities companies to re-let their contracts for the aerial surveillance of their pipelines. Principal tasks included shortlisting candidates, providing the specialist helicopter aspects of the tender documents, and assessing bids.
Consultavia has provided consultancy to ministries of defence on helicopter systems, Public Private Partnerships and Private Finance Initiatives.
