Since Oxford Aunts was established in 1967 we have built an excellent reputation in providing quality live-in care in people’s homes.
We are an expert live in care agency in Oxford specialising in arranging 24/7 fully-managed nurse-led care for adults of all ages from experienced, compassionate care professionals. All of our carers are supported by a team of care managers, training professionals and trained nurses. Oxford Aunts was established in 1967 in Oxford and we are very experienced in helping people to stay in their homes. We pride ourselves on having strong word-of-mouth referrals and feedback. We are regulated and inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and we observe the UKHCA Code of Practice and operate a recommended client complaints procedure.
Our carers are all vetted and assessed on their experience and skills by a trained interviewer and continuous assessment throughout their initial induction training is carried out. We take up at least three references and obtain an enhanced police clearance for everyone, as well as an overseas police check, where appropriate. Carers skills are carefully matched to client's care needs, as well as taking into account personalities. Our induction training is undertaken by all care staff and this sets out the high standards and working practices we expect to be followed. Ongoing training sessions are also provided to enable carers to deliver high standards of care to our client groups.
Oxford Aunts is not an agency. We employ, manage and train staff directly and deal with their pay, tax and national insurance. We provide a 24-hour on-call service for existing clients and care workers to call in an emergency. We work closely with our clients and their families to plan the help needed and carry out regular reviews.

Help with mobility
Oxford Aunts attended a case conference with his geriatrician and day centre manager and he was cared for at home for a further eighteen months.
We were delighted that Alison was our first carer. She was a big help setting the whole thing up and helped iron out any teething problems.
Oxford Aunts liaised with her occupational therapist and nursing home and put three carers with full manual handling expertise into Lady C’s home.
Mrs K was in her 80s when she had a hip replacement and required help when she returned home from hospital.
We assessed her whilst she was still in hospital and an Oxford Aunts carer went home with her and helped her get back on her feet again.
Mr A, a previous client, was frail and unwell. His wife needed help looking after him again.
We carried out an immediate re-assessment and a carer was assigned to provide much needed support. The following day Mr A was admitted to hospital for a blood transfusion. When he came home, the carer spent each day with him, helping with personal care, ensuring he ate and drank sufficiently and generally giving reassurance.
