At heath End Farm, SHES continues to provide day services for adults with learning disabilities, with a range of varied activities designed to develop skills, confidence and promote the well being of those attending.
Most people bring a packed lunch as we do not provide a meals service, although hot drinks, soup and snacks are available to purchase on site at lunchtimes. There is a mobile sandwich van that visits every lunchtime where people can purchase sandwiches and hot food. For those able to do so, there is the opportunity to visit the local shop, although this is only possible at lunchtimes.
Unless you plan to purchase food at lunch or break times, you will not need to bring money with you. Suitable clothing for the weather conditions and comfortable flat shoes are preferable, wellies are a good idea in wet weather but not compulsory. Any protective equipment you may need will be provided as necessary (we do have steel reinforced boots, but if you prefer to bring your own, brilliant). Perhaps less obvious than a waterproof in rainy weather, is the need for sunscreen and a hat in sunny weather (even in early spring) as the greenhouses get warm and people tend to find wearing a tee shirt comfortable.
Thank you for all the support and help you have given P*** and myself over the years. He has wanted to change many of his other placements in the past but has never wanted to leave Blofield.
Your kindness helped B** through a bad time, thank you so much!
Your kindness helped
I thought it would be nice to update you as to how R**** is doing. He is thriving here, it is amazing how well he is doing and a lot of it is down to you, while he was working with you, you taught him woodwork and how to make things. Now he has a busy business making birdtables, planters and bird boxes, to give him a place to work he has built himself a workshop/ shed (pic enclosed) as you can see he has done a very good job. There is a queue of people waiting for his bird tables and boxes, it is wonderful to see. So I have to thank you for giving him this talent, or at least nurturing it with him.
