Consols Oils is a major player in the local oil supply chain, we deliver heating oil all over Cornwall. 18 staff are employed on the diverse tasks that make a fuel distributor function efficiently. It is felt that our very experienced staff are our greatest asset. Delivery drivers are mostly long-serving and dedicated to specific areas, building long term relationships with regular customers.
Consols Oils now operates an extremely versatile fleet of 15 vehicles ranging from a pick-up truck and a couple of mini tankers right through to the largest multi-axled articulated vehicles. We feel our motto “Small enough to care but large enough to cope” encapsulates our unique ability to service any customer requirements with ease.
During exceptionally busy periods of high demand, our ability to cope is legendary. Priority is always without exception given to our loyal regular customers who make our business what it is. At times such as this we will sometimes cease taking orders from non-regular customers or inveterate shoppers-around. We hope this does not cause offence.
Our pricing policy is hopefully perceived as fair and equitable. Naturally we expect to be profitable, therefore we will not undersell our products to gain short-term advantage over a competitor. Neither will we knowingly over-charge to subsidise losses elsewhere. Our aim is to sit in the middle price band of a very competitive industry. Small tanker deliveries will generally carry a premium depending on the degree of difficulty involved but will be discussed with and explained to customers on request. Being part of the community we serve makes us very conscious of these sensitive issues.

Company History
Consols Oils was founded in 1986 by Kevin Bennetts, an ex-fisherman seeking a new career path.
Consols Oils first delivery vehicle was a tiny 600 gallon capacity tanker built to cope with Cornwalls legendary narrow lanes.
This was followed closely by the revitalisation of the Sea Fed Oil Terminal at Falmouth Docks, which meant that West Cornwall is now potentially self-sufficient for supplies of diesel and heating oil. This fact is often overlooked, there are huge environmental benefits in keeping heavy articulated vehicles off the over-crowded inherently unsuitable Plymouth corridor. Being a deeply rooted Cornish company we are proud to be able to make this ongoing commitment to our local infrastructure.
Being deeply rooted in the community, Consols Oils is proud to sponsor many local charities and initiatives. These range from local hospices, the RNLI, through sporting events and local shows such as Stithians, Royal Cornwall and Truro Prime Stock and Produce to individual sponsorship of a local teenager on a cricket tour in South Africa. Giving something back is part of our philosophy because our incredible Cornish community makes us what we are.
