The Farm became redundant in 1991 when Carsington Water was completed the farmland now lies beneath Carsington Water, although a couple of acres have been kept with the Farm and provide an area for ball games, picnics, or perhaps a quiet moment to absorb the beauty of the hill to the rear of the property.
Our family moved to the Farm in 1992 with our four small children. We have been slowly restoring ever since. The House have been a delight to work with, since they have so much charm and character. Each year we do a little more, perhaps extending the gardens, perhaps upgrading kitchen. We are more than a little pleased with the end results. We think our Farm house is just lovely! Beamed ceilings, traditional doors, exposed stone work, flagged floors, simple decor and lovely rugs along with comfortable settees and mellow furniture, lovely pictures and other traditional features combine to create a warm and cosy atmosphere home from home.
Have free pre dinner party tasters with every three course meal for you and your guests either on Friday or Saturday evening bookings when you book your catering via this website. Sloan’s Catering provides excellent quality Dinner or Luncheon Party catering services, Canapés or Hot and Cold buffets for any occasion.
All menus are only prepared from fresh ingredients, using local produce when possible by a Master Craftsman Chef. Also provided are Cookery demonstrations / lessons on location for light entertainment and fun.

Pretty much then onto Carsington Water for a healthy walk to the visitors centre, kids sampled cycle path also. Doug responded promptly and helpfully to all emails and went above and beyond to ensure beds matched our specific group requirement, extra doubles rather than singles. Meaning we all had a comfy nights sleep. We all loved it and it made my parents Ruby wedding celebrations extra special. !”
