ABOUT SWIFTCLEAN (UK) LIMITED

Feel confident that the company you select to help you to comply with essential Health & Safety and Fire Safety legislation & Insurance Policy Conditions is competent to do so. Swiftclean is a well-respected leader in this industry:

Two of Swiftclean’s Directors assisted with the development and editing of BESA’s Guide to Good Practice ‘Cleanliness of Ventilation Systems’ (TR/17 First & Second editions & TR/19 2005). We are currently assisting with the further enhancement of TR/19.

Legislative requirements for the control of Legionellosis put the responsibility for compliance clearly with the owner/operator of water systems. Under the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations as regards risks from legionellosis, all owners and operators of buildings have a responsibility to ensure that the risk is controlled and kept to an acceptable level. The HSC’s Approved Code of Practice and Guidance (L8) stresses that whilst the tasks required to be undertaken to control the risk may be contracted to an external specialist, the owner/operator must take all reasonable care to ensure the competence of the service provider to carry out the work on his behalf.

To be registered with the Legionella Control Association LCA), member companies have every year to demonstrate their competence by submitting a statement of compliance which describes how they meet the Conditions of the LCA Code of Conduct for Service Providers. The service standards of the LCA are progressive therefore registered companies are expected to continually improve on their management systems in the provision of Legionella control services.

We’ve provided below some case studies of works we have undertaken and where our clients have kindly endorsed the services that we provided.

We know that the surveying, cleaning, inspection and monitoring services provided to our clients must be carried out within an environmental management system that has the overall aim of continual reduction in environmental impacts and continued improvement in environmental performance.

Comply with all relevant Environmental Legislation and other requirements that are applicable to our business.

At Swiftclean we’ve been at the forefront of training in our own industry, helping to produce highly skilled technicians. We put more people through BESA’s pioneering Green Book Training Scheme than the rest of our industry combined, and have been instrumental in developing the new Trailblazer Apprenticeships which later replaced Green Book.

Business Apprenticeships

We like to develop our own home-grown talent, so we train and support a number of new employees through Business Apprenticeships. All our employees have personal development plans and we invest heavily in training to enable them to achieve their full potential.

We like to help the next generation too, and at local schools in our head office area we’ve also been involved in mentoring teenagers, helping by conducting mock interviews and giving advice and support in getting ready for work. We also supported an interschool’s business competition, and we hope that we’ll get to meet some of those young people in the workplace in the not too distant future.

places a ‘duty of care’ on all employers to “provide and maintain a working environment that is, so far as is reasonably practicable, safe and without risk to health”.

Swiftclean is one of the UK’s longest established providers of duct cleaning services, providing comprehensive compliance solutions for building managers in all aspects of air and water hygiene and kitchen extract fire safety.

Our performance directly affects our clients’ legal wellbeing, so we need people who understand that their best work is essential every day.
