Established in the early 1970’s by Peter Pollendine and Max Vinnell. In the late 80’s Max completed a management buyout of the business, retaining the established trading name. Shortly before this time his daughter, Samantha, joined the company as a Sales Executive and worked her way up to Sales Director, eventually taking over as Managing Director in 2001 after the sudden loss of her father.
Pollendines is an independent dealership and has worked with three main brands over the years, Volvo, Fiat and now Ford. The company has operated for over 40 years at the current site and is well known and respected within the local area. Pollendines currently sponsor a number local grass root sports teams in the local community.
In 2008 Pollendines gained approval for the Ford brand and was one the first dealerships to be appointed in a recruitment drive for a Ford retail dealership. Pollendines Ford is in a unique position, being one of the few remaining small local retail Ford dealers and offer a premium value product in a unique seaside location.

Highly delighted with my new vehicle so far and thoroughly enjoying driving it. I cannot think of anything that Pollendines as a dealer could have done to make the overall experience any better. I have used this dealership for a number of years and even though I now live near Leeds continue to use them. The whole process was excellent from the initial contact to collection of my new car. From arranging a visit to suit me and discussing my options and concerns to test driving and ordering my new car and guiding me through the process the sales manager couldn't have been more helpful and supportive. The maintenance manager as always found time to greet me was on hand to answer questions regarding service plans etc. Both have been in contact since I collected my new car to make sure I am happy with it or have any concerns and to check I received the documentation and am happy with my service plan. I have now bought several new Fords, over the last years, and the experience just seems to get better and better, if that is possible, on each occasion. The Sales experience is just second to none, as I have said on previous occasions. In my opinion, it just cannot be improved. It is everything that we can, and should expect, for a purchase of this size. It seems that the professional, personal service that we used to expect, years ago, seems to have vanished, with other Companies, but it is still very much alive and well, every single visit to Pollendines, with their excellent Team. We cannot praise them enough. We are always pleased, when we take delivery of our new Fords, to find that there are always little subtle improvements, apart from the major ones. The latest being the Eco Boost engine. Our previous Fiesta had the 1600cc engine, at my request, for that little extra performance, and when the Sales Manager announced that the engine of the car that I had just driven, was a mere 1000cc, and even had a cylinder missing, I was left totally speechless. It is quite amazing what Ford have achieved - well done. Thank you for our new Fiesta, which we are enjoying very much, and I am sure that we will continue to do so
