Loadpoint Bearings' success is built on over 30 years of technical innovation in air bearings. Loadpoint Bearings' products provide reliable ultra precision motion, extreme speed and high stiffness solutions.
Dicing for the electronics industry, paint spraying for the automotive industry, diamond turning for the contact lens industry are just a few of the applications where Loadpoint Bearings is a leading supplier of high performance spindle systems.
Loadpoint Bearings work closely with leading UK universities and has built its air bearing experience into a comprehensive suite of computer models and has made innovations in the application of DC brushless motors to air bearing systems. The company is in a unique position to respond to customer demands for higher performance spindles or completely new air spindle concepts.
Continuous investment in new manufacturing machinery and the latest test equipment ensures all Loadpoint spindles are manufactured to the highest quality standard irrespective of whether it is a spindle chosen from one of our standard ranges or a completely new prototype. Products are fully supported by a team of design, development and sales staff who maintain direct customer contact at all times.
Loadpoint Bearings spindle returned for refurbishment for the first time in 23 years.
This D02052 spindle model was designed by Loadpoint Bearings Technical Director, David Gilham in 1988. This particular serial number was 1 of a batch of 3 D02052 spindles manufactured and built by Loadpoint Bearings Managing Director, Tony Snow in 1993.
Final preparations on this spindle for a large Japanese multinational company. This spindle is not only the largest but has the tightest tolerances achieved, sub 0.5micron runouts, sub 0.05mm/sec vibration, around 10KG/micron stiffness, make this a record! Loadpoint Bearings make easy work of such design challenges, with 30+years expertise in this area….well done to all the engineers involved, including Dan one of our apprenticeship diamonds, seen etching the spindle prior to shipping.
LARGEST SPINDLE MANUFACTURED BY LOADPOINT BEARINGS 2013
Tony Snow, Managing Director of Loadpoint Bearings supervises the packing one of the largest spindle ever produced weighing in at some 200KG’s and almost a meter in length. Specialised lifting equipment was purchased for this project and numerous machinery modifications were needed to deal with the large parts. “Loadpoint often manufacture such large spindles with sub 50na-nometer accuracies of motion, for the ultra precision machining industry. A huge cred-it goes to the engineers and staff involved at Loadpoint Bearings”, commented Snow.
Loadpoint Bearings Ltd Achieve ISO 9001:2008 Certification
Loadpoint Bearings are very pleased, and proud, to announce that after an exacting and demanding audit, over the period of the 4th and 5th January 2012 by the Lloyds Register Quality Assurance (LRQA), that the company has gained certification, on our initial assessment, to BS EN ISO 9001:2008 against the company scope of approval for: "The design and manufacture of precision air bearings, and associated products, for use in controlled processes".
In recognition of the need to continually monitor and verify the high precision products manufactured by Loadpoint Bearings, and to reduce the inspection turnaround time, a decision was taken by the directors to investigate the suitability and source of a measuring system which could meet our exacting measuring capability requirements.
The directors are pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Brailey as the Design Manager, with responsibility for new product introduction (NPI), customer liaison and management of the design office processes, and Richard Broom as the Workshop Manager, with responsibility for the management of the machine shop, assembly and product test areas to ensure that customer orders are processed in a planned manner.
