About Group Training and Development Limited

Group Training and Development (GTD) Limited was established more than 40 years ago by a number of like-minded manufacturing companies in North Devon. It was created with the vision of promoting and advancing the provision of Apprenticeships in this area, primarily within Engineering, and to provide support to local employers and their trainees in the form of Apprenticeship Training.

To this day, GTD continues to work closely with local businesses to offer comprehensive apprenticeship services to employers in the area who operate in a multitude of engineering and manufacturing disciplines. This is achieved by supporting employers not only in the selection of apprentices for their business, but also by managing and supporting the training needs of each of their trainees. Furthermore, the apprenticeships can be specifically tailored to meet the individual requirements of the employers.

The team at GTD has many years of experience, and as a training provider, GTD has an excellent reputation amongst local employers, students and colleges alike. The Group continues to actively engage in local career events, exhibitions, apprenticeship forums, and to support Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) activities.

GTD is run by employers, for employers. Unlike other training organisations, GTD is recognised as having charitable purpose and is managed by local companies – this means that the Employer-Member companies decide how they want the Group to operate in order that maximum benefit is delivered to the local community, to their businesses and to their apprentices.
