A family run business established in 1980 at West Lane, Grangetown and now operating 26 mobile telescopic truck mounted and all terrain cranes ranging from 8 ton to 200 tons from the Tees offshore base at South Bank, Middlesbrough. Supplying Industrial, Commercial and Domestic customers throughout the North East and North Yorkshire, offering a 24 hour service 365 days a year.

A local company with experienced operatives and staff with a wide knowledge of the area from steel and petrochemcial industries to many Building and Civil Engineering contractors, Local Authority’s and service supply industries.

J Hewitt Crane Hire is a well established, well known crane hire company, based in the North East, which John Hewitt founded with his wife, Norma, a director and company secretary, in 1980 to hire cranes for use in all terrains and operate between Newcastle and York.

We offer a wide range of crane hire and lifting services on a 24/7 basis, from small one-off jobs to larger contract based work. We are fully insured.
