ABOUT MICHAEL VIRDEN ENGRAVED GLASS LIMITED

Michael Virden Engraved Glass Ltd was founded in 1971 by Michael Virden to supply Churches and Cathedrals with glass and crystal items for their gift shops. As Michael refined and developed his unique sandblasting skills he soon expanded the customer base to include other gift shops as well as a wide range of clubs and societies alongside regular attendance at the UK’s leading county shows.

As the business grew and was incorporated larger premises were required – in 1980 a new factory was built on the new industrial estate in North Walsham, a nearby medieval market town and the business was based at that factory until a move to a new location on the same industrial estate took place in 2011.

In 2003 Michael’s youngest daughter Anna Gill joined the business as an administrator and later that year took over the day to day running of the company, becoming Managing Director in 2008. Since then she has been joined by family members Philippa Corfield, who now performs the company administrator role, and Thomas Virden who has undertaken an international sales development role.

A strong team of longstanding and highly skilled staff work together to continue to produce the highest quality products and as a result the company now has several trading divisions supporting a variety of markets, and continues to be widely recognized as the UK’s leading decorator of glass and crystal.
