With the introduction of our Reversible female socket, DAU Components is pleased to be able to offer a suitable solution. Our USB Type 2.0 A port is available in both horizontal and vertical PCB orientation, making it suitable for most applications. Furthermore, the device is no bigger than a normal non-reversible Type A.
We are particularly proud of this reversible USB following a positive response from some of our biggest customers who can now offer a product range with the obvious advantage of having a reliable and reversible USB A port. Unsurprisingly, the vast majority of the engineers we have offered samples to have said yes.
Powerful axial fans are specifically chosen to provide additional performance benefits, both in air-flow volumes and dynamic pressure. However, if required, different fans can be provided.
As with most Fischer products, the LA28-33 Cooling Aggregates series offers considerable choice, with six different width options and in five standard lengths (100mm to 300mm, although any length up to 1m can be accommodated), as well as numerous surface finishes and coatings if required. Optionally, the LA28-33 series can be drilled or machined to customer's drawing.

Ideal for dissipating greater heat volumes in small spaces, these miniature cooling aggregates are highly efficient as more heat can be conducted away per unit of volume this way, than with natural convection, thanks to improved air flow. To meet the demand for small-volume cooling aggregates, Fischer Elektronik is expanding its existing product range in the LAM and LAM K ranges with the new LAM D design. The new aluminium profiles offer twice the component mounting area and are available with dimensions of (W x H) 60.5 x 30mm, 80.8 x 40mm and 100.5 x 50mm. The miniature cooling aggregates of the LAM D series are suitable for installation in a case or for mounting on a PCB, etc. Their compact design with interior cooling fins as a heat exchange structure enables homogenous heat dissipation. Powerful axial fans are available in 5, 12 and 24V DC versions and generate a very high air throughput with greater pressure, enabling even longer cooling lines to be bridged. Additional surface coatings and profile lengths or different fan types and voltages are also available, as well as holes or machining to customer drawings.
In applications where free-air convection doesn't provide sufficient cooling, or when there simply isn't the space to provide sufficiently large conventional heatsinks, then a potential solution is to force air across the radiating fins on the inside of a closed heatsink design using a fan (cooling aggregate). In order to provide a better compact solution within their already extensive range, Fischer Elektronik have introduced the new LA27K cooling aggregate which has been specifically realised to allow for maximum efficiency with minimal footprint.
To reflect this design philosophy, the LA27K has unique fin geometry to enhance heat dissipation despite the compact size. Further, the outer walls have built-in grooves for easy mounting of transistors using Fischer's own lock-in retaining springs. The LA27K is directly mountable to PCBs using screw-fit solderable pins, allowing the device to be mounted in a number of orientations. A combination of slot-in cover plates - which provide the closed element of the cooling aggregate - and pre-drilled attachment points for the fan, means that the design is extremely versatile. To increase versatility even further, the basic design can also be supplied as a standard aluminium heatsink profile (SK617) without fan or cover plates, should the application require a more conventional approach.

Available in numerous sizes, colours and IP rating, with variable length actuators, toggle switches remain a stalwart reliable choice for any application where manual, elective input is an essential or a key factor. Mounting and termination options include panel, traditional PCB and wire terminals with selective plating, as well as quick snap in terminals and rubber boots to provide for total sealing. Some types offer increased torque or protective safety covers to prevent accidental switch actuation. Other factors, such as lockable actuators and sub-miniature designs, differentiate these switches from more traditional ranges.
It is indisputable that LEDs are fast becoming the norm in lighting applications. One remaining issue is the efficiency of heat dissipation for the LEDs. Innovative cooling concepts are now a priority in order to maximise on the LED's efficiencies and increase their service life, whilst retaining the design aesthetic. With this in mind, Fischer Elektronik has introduced a new line of products which combine the efficiency of the pin heatsink with a fan designed to optimise on the pinned fin design.
With the introduction into its already comprehensive LED cooling product range, Fischer has brought off-the-shelf thermal solutions even closer. The new product series - LA LED 40x30, LA LED 50x20 and LA LED 50x45 - consist of a pin heat sink and a round fan motor that has been specifically designed for active LED cooling. The fan motor has a double slide bearing and is designed for the particular requirements of LED applications in terms of noise and service life. It is secured to the top of the pin using internally threaded distance sleeves that are provided for this purpose. With their innovative design and high pin density, the compact pin heatsink is designed to give the optimal balance of air flow and radiating surface, giving an extremely effective product. The combination of material properties, design geometry and structure make these pin heatsinks extremely efficient coolers for electronic components in free convection and especially so in a forced air convection environment. The aluminium alloy used (Al99,5) has excellent heat conductivity. In addition, the manufacturing process serves to create a homogenous material arrangement and microstructure that follows the direction of the heat flow - all of which ensures fast and even heat distribution throughout the heatsink. LEDs can be fastened to the pin heat sink with thermally conductive adhesive, double-sided thermally conductive foil, or screws. Additional mechanical treatments, custom designs and surface finishes can also be provided for your specific application.
