Since the Flying Scotsman’s restoration, its passengers have enjoyed one of the most scenic routes in Britain.It has required a team effort to ensure our railway had the correct gauge clearances for the famous locomotive, and I must give special thanks to the works delivery teams, our contractor MPH Construction, the Permanent Way and Technical Team, who were all instrumental in this work.
Throughout the work, MPH Personnel conducted themselves in a friendly, safe and professional manner. The school was open to children through the majority of the phases and this never conflicted with the safety of the children and school staff. Mark, the site manager was always available and even did above and beyond his role at times when he advised the school caretaker about repairs. The team of builders and tradesmen were friendly and approachable also. In all, a very well managed project that has had a massive impact on the quality of education we are able to offer.
