About Protocon Engineering
Protocon was established in 1964 and became a limited company when it moved to its existing site in 1969. Over the years the original building has been extended several times to its present size of over 5000 square feet.
The company has built its reputation on producing generally small, close limit components initially for the electronics industry. Today this has grown to encompass a variety of parts for the Medical Industry and for the civil and military Aerospace sectors.
Geoff, Maureen and Matthew Smith are the current owners of the company.
Geoff as Managing Director has been with the company since 1974 having served his apprenticeship and the early years of his working life at what was then Elliott Brothers Rochester and is now BAE Systems. His main role within the company, apart from the general day to day administration, is the securing of new and continuing business.
Maureen is the Financial Director and co-ordinates all the company accounts. She administers Sales, Purchase and Nominal ledgers (Sage Line 100) through to final accounts.
Matthew Smith - Production Director
Matthew Smith is the Production Director. He joined the company in 1993 having served a toolmaking apprenticeship with the Ford Motor Company. His role is to ensure the flow of work through the company from its inception, to the required quality standards and to customer delivery requirements. His professional relationships with all our sub-contractors ensures speedy throughput. Working very closely with all of our staff, his aims are to meet customer delivery requirements and to produce a sound financial base for future investment.
Mike Jordan is the Production / Quality Engineer. His activities include shop floor planning and the maintenance of quality standards. He has been instrumental in the incorporation of the

Following our successful re-certification AS9100 Rev C Audit, we are pleased to confirm our Auditor has recommended our certification be renewed until August 2018.
As we come to the end of March, we can confirm our latest Internal Audit only reported 2 minor non-conformaties.
Due to completion of some long running production parts, we now have capacity in most areas for February and March.
