W H Butler & Sons ( Founders ) Ltd began producing castings in 1922 and has a long and well-established history of success. For 75 years the company operated from its original factory buildings in Dronfield town centre. In 1996 the company re located to its present purpose built site in Whittington, Chesterfield. The foundry is now the largest of its kind in the local area producing castings using modern day methods whilst still drawing on knowledge and experience developed over four generations, spanning 80 years.

Our production processes offer a high degree of flexibility to our casting approach. If your demands were for small runs of relatively small castings we would recommend using the green sand process. Larger size and quantity would be more suited to the air set sand process. Very large quantities would require gravity die-casting. We can evaluate your demands and precisely identify the process best suited to your individual needs.

From the product conception, through casting development, and to final delivery, we will provide a total package unique in today's market place drawing on knowledge and methodology developed over an 80-year history.We offer a wealth of casting experience and will provide help and advice in all aspects of casting production from pattern and tool making to finished article, our ultimate aim being to supply a quality casting, delivered on time and at a truly competitive price.
